Wayne Fox Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Horace Wayne SR Fox/Turning Robe (A'Siimiposapi), who peacefully departed this life on Thursday, April 3rd, 2025, at the Strathmore Hospital at the age of 76.

He was born on August 3rd, 1948, to Late Jesse Fox and Late Frank S.R. Turning Robe. He was a devoted Christian man, friend, uncle and loving spouse to his first wife the late Darlene Blackface and current wife late Veronica Fox, a loving father to Waynette Old Woman, Donnie Olds, Horace Olds, a loving grandfather to Andrea Woods, Sherry Woods, Austin Woods, Brittney Woods, Selena Dixon and Tyson Dixon. Great grandfather to Jayda Woods, Haifa Woods, Willow Woods, Micah Woods, Renaz, Yassin, Maaz, Maiza, and Zaheen.
Wayne truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures. Whether that be visiting or chatting away with friends and family. He was a member of the 12-step fellowship recovery program, known for ranching and farming and doing sports in his younger years. He enjoyed beadwork, coffee, Elvis, Buddy Holly, and Chubby Checker music, watching his favorite hockey team Calgary Flames, he was very honored knowing Austin and Sherry Woods graduated basic military qualification training, spending time with his kids, grandkids, and great grandkids. He was known for his compassion for community engagement, which he pursued with enthusiasm and great strength. He was known as a very strong Christian man. Whether it was talking about his faith or simply spending time with family, he found joy in the little things and taught us all to appreciate the beauty around us. His laughter was contagious, and his sense of humor could light up any room. The humor he had in anything, in serious scenarios he always had that laugh. Family was everything to him. He cherished every moment spent with us, whether it was at family gatherings, holidays, or simple Saturday evenings at church. He had a unique way of making each of us feel special, always remembering the little details about our lives. His love was unconditional, and his wisdom profound.

He is survived by brothers Frank Turning Robe, Randy Turning Robe, Joseph Olds, Baxtor, and Jesse and sister Stella Turning Robe. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Family, friends, and his granddaughters dog, Coco, whom he called Snowball. He considered her his best friend and biggest enemy. Also, others whose lives Wayne touched are invited to the memorial service, which will be held on Saturday, April 12th, 2025, at 1:00 pm at Siksika Piiksapi Memorial Arbor, to reminisce, grieve, and support each other.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family in Wayne’s memory.

“Never be scared, because you walk with Jesus. When you feel down, pray. When you feel angry, pray. Because the LORD is always with you.”
