It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved son, brother, father, nephew, cousin and friend Tyrone Garrett (Stoney) Calf. He leaves to mourn his mother Shelly, his dad Wes, auntie/mom Arlene, father Waylon Kaquitts, his son Carter whom he cherished with all his heart, siblings: Anna (Cote), AJ (Sage), Ardelle (Catherine); his son’s mother Tia Black and adopted sister Brightstar aka Morningstar Young. Stoney is survived by his maternal aunts and uncles: Alvine (Darrel), Sheila (Phil), Sandie (Irvine), Boyce (Leandra), Pamela (Jason), Laura (Dennis Sr.), Edwin; traditional aunt and uncle Jeff Little Light and Bernice Leather. Paternal aunts and uncles: Betty, Donna May, Lawanda, Mathew, Harvey and Torin; brothers Lyndon (Vairlynn), Dusty and Chance Kaquitts; Paternal grandmother Georgie and great uncle Watson Kaquitts. Stoney attended Siksika Nation High School where he graduated as Valedictorian of his class 2006 then continued his education at SAIT in the Culinary Arts program for his love of cooking. He made his cursillo in 2008 “Cast the Stone” (St. Andrew family).
At the age of 5, his dad Wes laced up his skates and started his passion for hockey. He was known as a goalie with Siksika minor hockey and turned D-man with ‘AA’ Foothills Timberwolves hockey team. He loved watching the Flames, Penguins, Avalanche, Colts, UFC, and especially WWE Wrestlemania, which he enjoyed with his son Carter. Stoney was very humorous and can be caught laughing and teasing friends and relatives. From his height to his contagious laugh followed his big heart that made him a devoted dad. Stoney catered and supported Carter so much. He was his biggest fan with Carter’s powwow singing and was so proud to share videos of Carter’s singing. His proudest moment was witnessing his son sing at the Calgary Hitmen game at the opening ceremony. Stoney was predeceased by his maternal grandparents Alvin Sr. and Donna Calf, maternal great uncles: Sonny, Ed Sr., Wilfred, George, Larry and Bruce. One great maternal aunt Kathy. Paternal family members Albert, Johnny and Gary Kaquitts.
