It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Trae, a loving father, son, grandson, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin, and friend. Trae was the oldest of three children, born to Amber Blackface and Chris Blackbird. He was born and raised in Calgary, Alberta for most of his life, and in the past three years, he resided back in Siksika with his Grandpa Elliot Backfat. His greatest joy was his daughter Amari May Weaselchild. Trae had an amazing connection with his sisters and was more of a fatherly figure to his baby sister Akeysta and the best big brother Monique could ask for. Trae also had a special bond with his mother Amber and his nephew Ryell. He was an amazing uncle and made sure Ryell was dressed and ready for school, right down to braiding his hair perfectly. Trae was the kind of guy who was very quiet, liked cooking, and kept the house tidy. Trae liked being home with his family but once you got to know him, he was very funny, outgoing and always making jokes, but no matter what he was always there for you, in good or bad times. He was always positive no matter what he had the best personality. Trae is survived by his daughter Amari. Parents Amber Blackface, Chris Blackbird, Siblings Monique and Akeysta, Tallon Firstrider. Grandparents; Martina Black, Elliot (Tilley) Backfat, Bernalda (Arnold) Blackbird. Pre-deceased by; Grandparents Jim and Adelaide Black; Phillip and Jean Backfat. Survived by the Backfat Family, Billy Black family, Paulette McMaster family, Black Bird Family, Late Howard McMaster family, Late Charles MCmaster family, Rabbit Carrier family, Scout family, Blackrider family, and Crowchief family. We apologize for any friends and family we may have missed, as Trae had many families and friends.
