Steven Wayne Dustin passed away on July 11, 2023 in Brooks, Alberta. Steven was born on May 28, 1962 in Dryden, Ontario where he went to school and loved playing football. Steven worked in the Oil Industry as a downhole drilling inspector and on the rigs. He was also employed in irrigation, mining and as a meat cutter, UFA yard manager, and roofer.
Steven met Donna who lived next door and were married on August 26, 1989 in Bellville, Ontario. Then moved to Dead Man’s Flats, Alberta in 1991. Their son, Benjamin, was born May 1992 while they lived in Duchess, Alberta.
Steven was a parachute firefighter, first aider, and heavy equipment operator before getting MS. He was a hard worker, and very intelligent. He loved music and played accordion, guitar, and keyboard. Steven was a self-taught musician who learned to read music on his own. He also was a backup vocalist, bass and rhythm guitar player with the Giggle Stick Band. Other hobbies were cards, dice, fishing, and hunting.
Steven is survived by his wife Donna, and his son Ben. His brother Blaine (Julie) Dustin, brother in laws, Terry Bowers of Quebec, Terry Hopper of Picton, Sister in laws, Carolyn Bowers Langabeer, Nancy Bowers of Belleville, Kathleen Turcotte Hopper, Arthur & Anne Dustin of Dryden (Aunts and Uncles), Ontario. He is predeceased by his parents Clarence and Margaret Dustin.
