Sheldon Young

It is great sadness we announce the passing of our precious Sheldon Young, father, brother, grandfather, uncle, nephew, cousin, son, and a great friend to many.  Sheldon was born on December 22, 1970 in Calgary Ab.

Sheldon leaves behind the mother of his children, Dora Running Rabbit, his children, Wendell, Jack, and Tilson, as well as his step-children Cameron & Owen.  His brothers, Troy and Wes Young, his adopted mom Grace Young, his Goddaughter Ardelle Young, his father-in-law, Floyd Running Rabbit, and the rest of his relatives.  He loved and often spoke of his grandchildren.

Sheldon had many numerous nieces and nephews, he loved and cherished them. 

Sheldon was known by many nicknames, Scrappy, Scrub, and Abdullah, to name a few.  He was also well known in the Boxing Association, where he fought out of the Blackfoot Boxing Club.  He traveled throughout Canada and the USA, with the Late Clifford Many Guns, and the club.  He also enjoyed playing hockey in his younger years. 

Sheldon was a very humorous, loving, and caring person to all who knew him.  He will always be known for blessing us with his humor and cracking us up with his jokes.  

Sheldon was predeceased by his mother Constance Young, father John Mayfield, his sister Brightstar Young, nephews, Troy Jr, and Stoney Calf.  

The family apologizes for missing anyone as Sheldon had so many friends and relatives whom he loved.

Wake Services will be held on Thursday, May 13, 2021, from 4-12 pm at the residence of Dora Running Rabbit, Siksika Ab.  Funeral Services will be held Friday, May 14, 2021, at 1 pm, Anglican Church, Siksika Ab.
