Shawn Davis Good Eagle

Shawn Good Eagle was born on September 10, 1973, at Siksika, AB, and passed away on October 10, 2022, at Calgary, AB.

We are saddened to announce the sudden passing of Shawn Davis Good Eagle, a loving Father, Son, Brother, Uncle, Cousin, and Friend.

Shawn leaves behind his daughter Shawntia Kathy Big Plume, his parents Floyd & Violet Good Eagle, siblings Grant (Dedria), Lloyd (Sarah), Candice (Roy) and Kristina. His nephews Dorian, Adri (Ceci), Landon, Austin, Tanner and Félix, and his nieces Strawberry and Brookelyn. His Uncles Cyril Good Eagle, Ralph Good Eagle, Aunties Loretta Good Eagle, Colleen Good Eagle, June Spotted Eagle, and his Special Cousins Ivan (Lorraine) Scott and Cherie Spotted Eagle.

During Shawn’s younger years, he attended Crowfoot School and later went to P.I.C.S.S. Shawn also enjoyed rodeo as a steer rider and would travel with his dad and brothers throughout Alberta competing in rodeos. Shawn worked various jobs throughout his life in and around Calgary. Later on, he met the love of his life, Lynne Big Plume, and they welcomed their daughter Tia (Shawntia Kathy). Shawn resided in Tsuut’ina for the majority of his years until the passing of his wife Lynne, thereafter he resided in the Calgary area. Shawn enjoyed being around family and friends, he enjoyed his pets, listening to music (AC/DC, Nazareth and Bob Marley), watching movies, drinking coffee, and going for walks.

Shawn was a very compassionate person. He wouldn’t let you doubt yourself, and always knew just what to say when you needed a kind and comforting word. Over the years, Shawn enjoyed chatting with his cousins, always giving words of encouragement and support, and to share stories and news. His laughter was contagious and heartwarming. He was generous and kindhearted, a one-of-a-kind guy that will be greatly missed.

Shawn was predeceased by his wife Lynne Big Plume, his younger brother Floyd Good Eagle Jr., and his Grandparents Paulus & Gertrude Good Eagle, and Jack & Maggie Spotted Eagle. His Uncles Cecil Good Eagle, James Good Eagle, Philip Good Eagle, Michael Good Eagle, Geoff Lambert, Doug McBeath, James “Big Jim” Scott, Frank Spotted Eagle, and Steve (Beverly) Spotted Eagle. Aunties Theresa Good Eagle, Hazel Many Shots, Lena (Timmy) Breaker, and Special Cousins Debbie Good Eagle, Laverna Good Eagle, and Elroy Good Eagle.

The family apologizes if they have missed anyone.

Wake services will be at the One Gun Community Centre, Siksika, AB, at 3:00PM for family and 6:00PM for public, on Sunday, October 16, 2022. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Siksika, AB, at 11:00 am on Monday, October 17, 2022, with Deacon Roger Nelson officiating. Graveside service will be at the Little Washington Cemetery, Siksika, AB. Feast to follow at the One Gun Community Centre, and all are welcome.
