It is with great sadness and sorrow, the family of Sharon Ann Strangling Wolf Iinahksiipistakii (Young Owl Woman) announces the passing of a beloved and cherished mother/grandmother/wife/sister/aunt/cousin and friend to all who knew her on Thursday August 5, 2021. She leaves to mourn her loving husband Arthur (Sonny) Water Chief; son Ben Strangling Wolf (Michelle); daughter Victoria Strangling Wolf (Dwayne); Special nephew/son Phillip Strangling Wolf; 5 grandsons she adored Damon SW, Dezmon SW (MJ), lil Ben SW (Debs), Connor Cochan & Mr. Migo (Micheal) SW. Sisters Catherine S, Donna SW (Ivan), Jackie SC (Kelly), Pebbles (Denita) S. Brothers; Francis SW, Peter SW (Stella). Adored nephews (Traditional Sons); Marty W, Rudy SW, Tim SW, Derek G, Chow(Brennen) SW, Clayton (Can) SW, Woodrow SW Jr., Rance SC, Chance SC, Taylor RG & Trey SC. Adored nieces (Traditional Daughters); Amanda W, Pavola CC, Stacie ET, Tracey SG, Carmen S, Coreen S, Charlotte S, Brenda S, Shannon SW, Lyndsey SC, Lyndsey SW, Cyrena SW, Hailey SC & Kristy RG. Aunties; Connie RC (Mike), Elizabeth S & Lydia B. Sharon was predeceased by her parents Chris (Phillip) & Susan SW. Brothers; Ben SW, Kim SW, Woodrow (Woody) SW & Chris SW Jr. Nephew/son; Richie RG. Aunt; Mary B, Uncles; James TR, Levitt McM, Raymond (Piiskii) TR. Sharon will be lovingly remembered by all her extended families from near and far from Siksika; The Strangling Wolf, Turning Robe, Rabbit Carrier, Axe, Breaker, Medicine Shield, McMaster, Black Rider, Big Tobacco, Eagle Speaker, and Maguire families. Kainai/Browning/Piikuni/Hobbema; Willows, Eagle Bear, Many Fingers, Beebe, Scout, Mills, Little Bear, Small Face, Tallow, Plain Eagle, Buffalo families; too many to list. The family apologizes if any families are missed. Sharon was loved by all who knew her, Syra & Iisiisuyakii; her dogs will miss her dearly. The family would like to thank the Foothills Hospital ICU staff & her nurse Kendra for taking care of her in her last days. Wake services will be held at the residence of Sharon Strangling Wolf (Siksika Nation) on Tuesday August 10, 2021. Funeral Services will be held at the Gordon Yellow Fly Memorial Arbor, Siksika Nation on Wednesday August 11, 2021 at 12pm. Graveside Service to follow at the Paul Little Walker Cemetery, Siksika Nation. Feast to follow Graveside Service at Late Sharon Strangling Wolf’s residence.
