In loving memory of Shannon Lee Wolf Leg
August 2, 1966 - December 7, 2019
Shannon was born in Calgary Alberta to the Late Corrine Wolfleg. In his yearly years he lived in Siksika, ( Flats) with his great grandmother Maude, his, grandmother Annie , and various close family members.He had loved his family and took many of his cousins as his brothers and sisters. Ruby Wolf Leg, ( sister) Glenna Baptiste ( sister) Paul and Cody Wolf leg ( brothers).As well as extended families: Raw Eaters, Stimson, Wolf Ears, Blackhorse
Shannon truly believed in our traditional way of life. While living with his Great grandmother Maude who spoke only Blackfoot. Shannon was taught various traditional teaching and spoke fluent Blackfoot.
Growing up Shannon was known as the crazy one when out and about with his cousins and friends, and was given the nick name Capone.
Later on he eventually Moved to Vancouver, and resided in Vancouver until his passing.
While his residence in Vancouver Shannon worked at Seven Sacred Fires Society in Vancouver, a halfway house for the rehabilitation of Indigenous men in a cultural community setting. Shannon strongly believed in his Indigenous Culture recently completing his first year of Sundance with the Red Blanket Society this summer. He had just made his second year pledge to work with the men and youth as a living example that it is never too late to make positive changes.
Shannon is survived by his loving Wife Rebecca Hatch, Sister Crystal Wolf Leg, Aunts Tracy Quinn, Olivia Good Rider, Uncle Glen Wolf Leg, numerous Cousins, Nieces, and Nephews, great Niece and Nephew
Shannon was predeceased by his great grandmother Maude Wolf Ear nee White Pup, his grandmother Annie Wolfleg nee Wolf Ear, his Mother Corrine Wolf Leg, Uncles, Bonney wolfleg, Nelson Wolfleg, Mathew Wolfleg, aunty’s Margret Green Wood nee Wolf Leg, Ethel Wolf Leg, and his Son who was five years old.
Shannon was a loving person, loved showing family and friends how much they meant to him. He mentioned while in the hospital;
“ It's all about love, nothing else matters in this world, just pure love."
Another thing he consistently would say when he'd see people was " you're awesome " and "I love you", to everyone. He would make sure everyone knew that he loved them. ��ï�ïï
As per Shannon’s wishes to be cremated a celebration of life will be held in his honour at 11:00am Sunday January 5, 2020 at the Gordon Yellow fly Arbour. Condolences, memories and photos may be shared at that time.
