Our precious Shane Daniel left us on Friday evening, after a lengthy illness, at home; surrounded by his family- (He fought hard to stay with us, but wasn’t meant to be-God need his child back) he is now happily reunited with his beloved daughter Gina n brother Kirk n his dad, Danny.

Shane was the first baby to be born in Bassano in 1976 New Year’s Day to Marion Joy & Daniel Bear Hat. He was spoiled by the nurses and nuns, who had given him many gifts! And he was also very spoiled by his grandpa & grandma & by his daddy. (Iikiikootpoka)

In his younger years; he went to live with his Auntie (Mom) Floria DC n took his cousins Kory; king; Joe as his sister n brothers. As he says my other family. He also called Auntie Polly- Mom. He was also always with grandma n grandpa Marina & Noel, whom he loved dearly. He loved his family specially his siblings n nieces n nephews. His favourite nephew Nevik would always FaceTime him specially when he got sick. Shane called him “Friday”

Shane was known for his friendly, kind, humble, outgoing nature n made friends where ever he went. He loved to hang out w his friends n family. (He gave his friends n family nicknames) He was so happy & proud when he had his first & only child with Pam Solway. He really cherished his beloved daughter n did everything for her. He enjoyed his family time with his baby girl “G”.

Sadly, she left us in June, 2020 and Shane was very devastated by his great loss and never got over it. He changed and dealt with his grief in all the wrong ways. Then losing his brother a year later - only added more grief upon him. He never got over his grief.

He received his education in Siksika n Calgary, Clearfield, Utah n received his high school diploma in Utah n had started taking a program in the field of Mechanics in Utah, but unfortunately didn’t complete it. He wanted to be a Mechanic to rebuild cars and all.

He worked as a carpenter with his cousins; also worked at various jobs with different companies throughout Alberta.

Shane always said, “Mom, don’t worry, be happy; it’s going to be alright”. And forgive the people who ‘ve hurt us. My boy was humble n a forgiven guy. He just wanted to enjoy life the best he could.

Shane will be greatly missed by all who knew him specially by his mom, who was there for him to the end. He loved his mom dearly.
