Russell Wright

Many people of the Siksika Community are saddened by the passing of Rusty Wright.  His son Russell III along with his grandsons, Dion and Angelo, Pinky and siblings announces his journey onto the Spirit world.  There, greeted by his precious daughter, Chris-Ann who passed away a year ago and reunited with his parents Late Russell Wright Sr and Late Julia Wright.  Rusty left peacefully on January 24, 2021. Rusty loved his family and friends dearly and considered as Brother, Father and Uncle.  He will be lovingly remembered by his Day Care children.   Those who established a relationship considered and valued him as a kind and gentle soul.  Rusty was raised on the Wright Ranch.  He worked for Siksika Nation Public Works and Siksika Day Care where he dedicated his time and service as a valued employee.  Rusty’s character and values gained the respect of people and he was well known for his humor.  His kind and humble nature had an impact and touched the hearts of his family and friends.  

He was predeceased by his parents Russell and Julia Wright, grandparents Frank (Ruth) Wright (Big Old Man), Max (Mary Jane) Three Suns and Dick (Margaret) Bad Boy.  Along with his brothers, Richard (Dicky), Robert, Michael, and Arnold.  Heartfelt gratitude to all who expressed their love for Rusty – all your kind words and prayers gives us strength to honor Rusty in his final farewell.  We acknowledge Medical staff at Peter Lougheed ICU unit and Unity 42 for their care.  The Siksika Shelter and all who helped Rusty.  Covid precautions in effect during the service. Viewing will be on January 30, 2021 at 10:00 am and Funeral Service to follow at 1:00 pm. at St. John The Divine Church.  Burial at Paul Little Walker Cemetery, Siksika Nation.  A Drive through feast at Siksika Sportsplex in lieu of Family Feast.
