Raleigh Weasel Head (ipom-moo – crossed the ocean)
We are announcing with profound sadness the passing of a dear dad, grandad, spouse, brother, uncle, friend, and cousin to many. Raleigh was born at the Blackfoot Hospital to Marcel and Lucy, he was a baby of six. He attended Crowfoot School and later worked on contracts with Siksika Housing. Later he received his Entrepreneurial and Carpenter certification and started his arts and many crafts businesses. He and Tracy traveled all over Alberta selling his work and also enjoyed traveling to Powwow with Darryl Black Kettle. He also loved to play pool with friends and relatives.
Raleigh was very proud of his children and grandchildren; he was also an accomplished traditional Dancer winning many competitions. He will be remembered for his friendliness and joking around with family and friends. Raleigh made his Cursillo, theme song (I Saw a Man). The family would like to thank the South Health Campus staff for keeping Raleigh comfortable and for trying to make him better.
Raleigh leaves behind his partner Tracy of many years, children: Raleigh Jr. Daniel, Dakota River, Martin, and Irene, many grandchildren, his former partner Marie, nieces and nephews, brother Larry and sister Marcella (Errol), Blackrider/Weasel Head Grand Children.
He was predeceased by his children: Chantel, Derek, and Joseph, parents Marcel and Lucy, Sisters Gloria and Dale, and Brother Gerald.
Extended relatives: Weasel Head, Sleigh, Many Shot/Yellow Sun, Crow Chief, Pretty Youngman, Sitting Eagle, Bear Hat, Little Chief, Munro, Calf/Calf Robe, Bear Robe, Yellow Horse, Rabbit Carrier, Black Kettle, Pius Three Suns Family, Mary White Family, Elizabeth Spring Chiefs Family and Cecilia Many Heads Family.
