Paytin Brice Sleigh McMaster

With heavy hearts the family of Paytin Brice Sleigh-McMaster announce his passing on Friday, October 13, 2023, peacefully surrounded by his loved ones.

Paytin was born in Calgary, Alberta and grew up in Siksika, Alberta.

Paytin (dipples) was the most loyal, respectful, kind, loving carefree soul with a heart of gold.  He was a natural at everything he tried – from sports, dancing men’s traditional to his honest direct, funny jokes & comments.  Paytin was always conscientious of his appearance, always looking his best. His siblings, family and friends have numerous funny stories that they can tell you how loving and funny Paytin truly was.

He attended school at Wheatland Crossing for his last year of high school.  He played with the Siksika Buffalos hockey team, in right wing position.  Paytin loved his hockey experiences and adventures, looking forward to every game.

Paytin will be forever missed by his parents, Gina & Ken; his siblings Nolan (Skylar), Tayla & Vance; his precious niece Nora; his Step-siblings Cole (Sarah), Taren (Mariah), Layne (Feather) Lila, his Step niece and nephews Otter, Cole jr, Brison, his maternal grandparents, Flora (Sleigh) & Louie Auger.  His aunties Sharma Sleigh, Sheena (Blaine); his uncles Cyril (C.J), Jonathan (Georgia), Rulon, his close cousins, Shontay (Delaney), Malik and Audrey.

He will also be missed by his biological father, Justin McMaster; his paternal grandparents Agnes McMaster and Aldred Hornberger.  His aunts Jodi McMaster, Destiny Medicine Shield, Maria Medicine, Polly (Harold) Woods, Edith (Joe) Weasel child.  His paternal uncles, Callen (Louise) Christopher and Allan McMaster, Francis McMaster. His nieces Kalini, Angel.

He was predeceased by his maternal great grandparents John & Leona Sleigh, his great aunt Carrie Sleigh.  His paternal uncle Brandon Medicine Shield and his great uncle Harley McMaster.  Peytin’s family line includes, Sleighs, Eagle Ribs, Good Eagles, Many Shots, Little Chiefs, Healy, Pretty Youngman, Spring Chief, White Eagle, Hoofs, McMaster, Medicine Shied, Hornberger.

The wake service will be held on Thursday, October 19, 2023, at 6pm located at his grandmother’s residence at Map 7 House 106, Siksika, Nation.  Funeral service will be held Friday, October 20, 2023, at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Siksika Nation, AB at 11am. Feast to follow at Flora’s residence.
