It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, grandmother, sister, aunty and friend, Norma Ruby Three Eagles nee Stimson. Norma of Siksika Nation made her journey peacefully surrounded by her family on January 29, 2026 at the Foothills Hospital, at the age of 63. Mom was born October 16, 1962 at Ponoka Hospital to the parents of Patricia Stimson & Douglas Barkley. Norma was raised by her grandparents, Connor and Dorris Stimson and the Scott family who also raised our mom during the 60’s scoop.
Mom leaves behind five children: Benjamin McBeath, Terri (Zac), Chrissy, Keevin (Kriesten), and David. Also her God daughter, Tanya Stimson and God son, Roy Stimson Jr. Mom had many children she took in as her own. The father of her children (Legal Husband), Trent Three Eagles. Norma loved and adored her Grandchildren: Nevaeh, Shyles, Jacob, Destin, Lucas, Saige, Chase, Zyan, Traedence, Lexis, Maddi, Ari, Zade, Knila. Mom was also a foster parent to Late Samantha Stimson, Late Kayla Stimson, and Lisa Stimson.
Mom’s siblings whom she loved dearly: Danny Stimson, Jordan Stimson, Horton Stimson, Sharon McMaster, Treena Panther Bone, Shon Stimson, Karri McMaster, Maria Stimson. Half-sisters Sherri & Dana, and brother, Doug and grandfather, Lenard Soloway.

Mom’s extended families include Stimson, Raw Eater, Heavy Shield, Axe, Brass, Running Rabbit, Bull Bear, Turning Robe, Black Horse, Spotted Eagle and family from Kainai, Piikani and Amskapi’pikani. The family apologies for those we may have missed.
Mom grew up in the dog patch area in Siksika with her grandparents. She shared many stories of her upbringing. Being raised by her grandparents from a young age and being a 60’s scoop survivor. Mom was welcomed in many homes who took her in and played a part in raising her. The best qualities and values were instilled in mom at a young age when she lived with her grandparents. Mom passed these values down to her kids, grandchildren and everyone she loved. Norma lit up a room with her laughter, jokes, and at times her stern talks when needed. You never left Norma's house with an empty stomach. She always made sure her visitors were comfortable as they crowded around her kitchen table. Mom was a mom to many; she adopted many that walked into her home.
Mom went to school at Drumheller in 1977-1979. She then went on to Old Sun Community College for her high school and later graduated with her Highschool Diploma at Bow Valley College in 2004. She was a horn society member for 10 years and completed her Cursillo in the late 80's to early 90's. Mom always reminded her children and grandchildren of the love of Jesus and instilled the teachings of scriptures and the power of prayer into her family, especially her grandchildren.
She loved running and in her younger days was a dedicated member of a baseball team. She worked diligently as a custodian engineer at the healing lodge, the Headstart program, and the old medical clinic. A truly hard worker. She always brought a smile to people's faces and took great pride in everything she did.
Mom enjoyed family car rides with her grandchildren Nevaeh, Shyles, Lucas and Saige, blasting music on their way to get smokes and munchies. Mom was a humble Siksikaakii, always willing to help anyone in need. Sharing many life experiences and lessons with all who had the privilege of hearing her speak of her fond memories. Our mom was a strong, prideful woman who spoke her mind, always ready to fight the government. Her voice was loud and proud, always advocating for treaty rights and basic human rights.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Foothills Hospital ICU C pod unit.
