Michael James Wolfleg Sr It is with deep sadness and heartbreak that we announced the passing of Michael James Wolfleg Sr., at the age of 64 years. He passed away peacefully on December 31, 2025 at the Calgary Rocky View Hospital Michael was born To the late Dan & Maggie WolfLeg in Siksika Alberta on Sep.3.1961. He grew up on the nation went to school on the nation & in his later years he attended St. Marys school in Calgary Ab. He has survived by his children: Tyler Bigchild, James Wolfleg. Micheline Running Bird, Michael Wolf Leg Jr., Hayden Wolf Leg, Skyla Wolf Leg, and Lilly Wolf Leg. He also leaves behind his grandchildren: Amelia, Tayller, Justyce, Kaysin, Laeloni, Tahleah and Tasheena. He is also survived by his nieces & nephews: Faron Wolf Leg, Leroy (Marsha)Wolf Collar, Cecille (Horton) Running Rabbit, Jillian Good Eagle, Leonard Sitting Eagle, Debbie (Elroy) Bear Head , Sharon( Keith) Knowlton, Kendrick Wolf Leg, Kim Wolf Leg, Wilda Wolf Leg, and Danita Wolfleg. Adopted brothers Frank Turning Robe and Floyd Medicine Shield and close cousins Betty and Joan Poor Eagle. Doug (Meryann) Bearhat Elaine (Roy) Bear hat. Andria (Andie) Wolfleg Michael was very loved by all who came into his life he was well known in the Treaty 6 & 7 communities as well as in the USA. Michael loved attending rodeos all over treaty 7 & 6. He travelled to Powwows and round dances and the Indian relay horse races with his great niece & her husband Selma & Robert (Bobby) BadEagle. He loved playing the guitar in his younger days His all-time favourite thing to do was attend & watch the Calgary Flames games whether it be in person or on TV. He loved his crossword puzzles. He also enjoyed his scratch and win tickets. He enjoyed telling his great nieces and nephews’ stories of the past and about his ranching days. Michael was a member of the Brave Dog Society and the A1 Club singers. He is known to have a silly sense of humour always hade people around him laughing. Michael was predeceased by his parents Dan and Maggie Wolf Leg, his siblings Jane Wolf Collar, Walter Wolf Leg, Margaret Red Old Man (nee Wolf Leg), Judy Wolf Leg, Robert (Bubblegum) Wolf Leg and Marie Wolf Leg. His grandson, Dakota Wolfleg His Nephew’s & Nieces Malcom Sittingeagle , Selma Sittingeagle , Sonia ManyGuns , Robert (Joe) peacemaker Laverna Good Eagle, Gertrude Good Eagle, Debbie Lopez Jimenez great nephews & great nieces’ David sittingeagle , Keith Knowlton jr. Isaac Knowlton , Melissa smith/Wolfleg , Felicia Manyguns. Michael will truly be missed by all his extended families, Wolf Collar, Wolf Leg, Sitting Eagle, Poor Eagle, Good Eagle, and by all who knew him We the family apologize if we have forgotten anybody that was not our intent as Michael loved all who came into his life. Wake services to be held at the Gordon Yellowfly Memorial arbor on Friday, January 9 from 4 to 6 for family after six for the public Funeral services to be held at the Gordon Yellowfly Memorial arbor on Saturday, January 10th at 1 PM Burial to follow little Washington cemetery The family wishes to invite everybody back to the Gordon Yellowfly Memorial Arbour for a feast in Michael’s honour Please if u can wear anything Calgary Flames for Michael.
