Michael Franklin Little Light of Siksika Nation passed away in Vancouver at the age of 53. He was the beloved youngest son of the late Wendy Little Light and Mike Franklin Senior. Mike was born in Winnipeg and spent his earliest years there before moving with his family to Calgary. Mike entered the foster care system at a young age and was raised in Calgary under the child welfare system. Thankfully, he was reunited with his mother when he became of age and enjoyed spending time with her and his family at Pow wow, barbeques, campouts, and numerous special events. Mike was energetic and enjoyed sports, especially basketball with nieces and nephews, hockey and golf and was an avid reader. He was a hard worker who kept busy with numerous jobs at warehouses, roofing construction jobs and lumber yards. He truly enjoyed people, especially his family and a special bond with nieces and nephews and his special nieces; Liliane Pard, Brittany Breaker and special nephews, Brent and Bret Breaker. Michael was predeceased by his parents; brother John Yellow Wings; grandparents; Arthur and Nellie Little Light; niece, Stacey Yellow Wings, and nephew Tyson Black Horse; uncles Gary (Sonny), Velma, Dean and is survived by his siblings; Kirk (Lorna), Norvena (Stan), Marsha, Clint, and Kelly; aunties; Grace, Annabel, Millie and uncle Thurman and his wife Colleen and family. The family wishes to acknowledge their many relatives; Backfat, White Elk, Young, Spotted Eagle, Healy, Many Guns, Black, Bear Hat and Royal and we apologize for anyone we may have missed.
