With great sadness and broken hearts, the family of Mary Frances King of Brooks, Alberta regretfully announces her unexpected passing on Tuesday, July 12th, 2022, at the age of 74 years.Frances had a pure heart of gold and made everyone in her company feel welcome. More than any material possession Francis adored her children and her four beautiful grandsons. Frances was a hard worker, working many years at Lakeside, where she was known and loved by many. Frances was always up for a good chuckle, had a contagious giggle and could banter with the best, especially her buddy Larry Pierce. Frances was a fabulous cook, and her home was often filled with family and friends who thoroughly enjoyed her traditional Newfoundland meals and her famous pineapple squares. Her nightly phone calls to check in on her boys will be missed. Left to cherish her in loving memory are her children Jackie (Tyson) Langdon, Chris (Cawley) King, Craig (Cora) King and Colin (Yvonne) King; grandsons Camden King, Coltin King, Reid Strickland and Chaise King; sisters Philomena Rideout, Catherine Clements, Marie (Gerald) Cox; brothers Tom (Gertie) Hickey, Peter (Margaret) Hickey and Jim Hickey; sisters-in-law Lucy Hickey, Minnie Hickey, Diane King, Valerie (Guy) Lafosse and Jean King ; Brother in-law Millet (Freda) King; and numerous nieces, nephews, special great nephew Gregory Clements, cousins and friends. Francis will be especially missed by her friends and coffee buddies Mary (Bill) Thornhill, Cathy (Doug) Levy, Rose (Ross) Anderson, Darlene Hanke, Cheryl (Alec) Clasper, Georgina Martin, Carol Ducharme, Darlene Murphy, Ellie Better, Lynn Valerian, Karen Howe, Jacque Smith, Dale Vossler, Sandra (Paul) Lambe, Joanne Dejong and Richard Galarneau. Frances was predeceased by spouse Gerald King, parents Thomas and Frances Hickey, Mother and Father-in-law Major and Muriel King, brothers Richard Hickey, Earl Hickey, Joseph Hickey and Michael Hickey, brothers-in-law Major King Jr., Andrew Rideout, George Clements; and special nephew Ricky Hickey. Viewing for family and friends will be held on July 16th, from 4-8pm. Cremation to take place with service to follow in Fortune, NL at a later scheduled date.
