Marjorie Lee Obituary

Marjorie Anne Lee (née Lewis)
January 14, 1949 – December 30, 2024

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Marjorie Anne Lee on December 30, 2024, at the age of 75 while in the Brooks hospital surrounded by family. Born on January 14, 1949, in Trout Creek Point. She is survived by her children Tarie, Jennifer (Jason), Christie (Kevin), and David; grandchildren Jonathan, Kendal, Lyndon, and Emma. She is predeceased by her husband Bill, and siblings Richard, Kathleen, and William.

Marjorie called Brooks her home for many years but remained deeply connected to her roots in Penticton and Trout Creek. During her time in the Brooks Hospital, she often reminisced about her childhood spent swimming in Lake Okanagan and running wild and carefree with her school friends. Those early days were filled with laughter, adventure, and a profound sense of freedom that shaped her joyful and spirited outlook on life.

She dedicated her professional life to caring for others as a Licensed Practical Nurse at Penticton Regional Hospital. Marjorie’s compassion and commitment to her patients were evident in her work, leaving a meaningful impact on the lives of those she cared for.

Beyond her career, Marjorie had a soft spot for animals and frequently adopted special needs cats and dogs. She also worked closely with private animal rescue shelters, offering her time and resources to ensure these animals found love and care. Her favourite pets included Rosie, Max, Rocky, Zoe, Lady Isabella, and Molly.
Marjorie found joy in reading and exploring the world. Her favorite books took her on countless journeys of the imagination, while her travels brought her the thrill of experiencing new cultures and creating memories with loved ones. A few of her favourite destinations included Jamaica, Puerto Vallarta, and the Dominican Republic. Her passion for reading also made her a creative storyteller, and her vivid recounting of events often left you wondering whether they were tales of fact or fiction.
One of Marjorie’s fondest memories was her time as a Girl Guide leader, where she shared countless adventures and many moments of hilarity with her best friend and co Girl Guide Leader, Kathleen Pye.

Marjorie’s relationships with those closest to her reflected the depth and complexity of her character. Her strong will and spirited nature shaped many of her interactions and left a lasting impression on those who knew her. She loved her family in her own unique way and touched the lives of many. Marjorie will be remembered for her vibrant presence and the memories she created with those around her.

At Marjorie’s request, there will be no service. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made in her memory to either BAPS (Brooks Animal Protective Society), AARCS (Alberta Animal Rescue Crew Society) or to a charity of your choice.
