Marian Fay (Martin) Shantz

Marian Fay Shantz of Duchess passed away suddenly in Ireland on July 11, 2023 at the age of 78 of a ruptured appendix. Marian was born in Bassano, Alberta on April 27, 1945 to her parents Joseph and Ruth Martin. After receiving her nursing degree in Virginia, she moved back to Duchess until her and Dale married December 16, 1967. They moved to Edmonton where they lived and she worked as a nurse for 5 years before moving back to Duchess for the remainder of her life. She is survived by two older brothers. Joseph and Dale and a younger sister Linda as well as two children Jennifer (Ken) and Jeff (Jonene) and four grandchildren. Her biggest passion was sewing quilts and donating them to charities. Her and Dale have enjoyed the last number of years in Mesa, Arizona for the winters.
