Lillian Kimmel

Lillian Kimmel of Brooks passed away on May 5, 2022, at age 93 at Sunrise Gardens, Brooks. She was born in Grainger, Alberta, on February 28, 1929 the second child to Ed and Ida Bitz. Raised on the family farm, she married Elmer Schmidt and together they welcomed 3 sons, Terry, Robert and Darryl. The family moved to Calgary where the boys spent most of their school years and later relocating to Brooks where Elmer passed in 1979. Lil Married Ray Kimmel in 1981, joining him on his farm in Millicent. They retired to Rockyford, then to an acreage at Nightingale where they lived until Ray's passing in 2008. Lil spent a few years in Strathmore until health issues required a move to Sunrise Gardens in Brooks. Lil was predeceased by her son Terry, husbands Elmer and Ray, step-daughters Donna and Terry, and grand-daughter Kaitlin. She leaves to mourn her passing sons Robert (Lois) of Millicent, Darryl (Darlene) of Medicine Hat, step-children Howard, Beverly, Nadine, and Harvey, numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. A family graveside service is planned for Saturday, May 28th, at 11 am at Strathmore Cemetery.
