Lewis Alfred Blackface

It is with great sadness we announce the sudden passing of Lewis Alfred Blackface on Tuesday, November 23, 2021. Lewis was born in Calgary, Alberta on July 2, 1999. He was the youngest son of Annette Onespot and Wilfred Blackface. Lewis was raised on the Tsuu T'ina Nation and in Calgary. He attended Tsuu T'ina High School and graduated in 2017. During his graduation he received an achievement award for top student in the Tsuu T'ina Language program. Lewis loved to play basketball and volleyball and was a valuable player for his high school teams. Lewis is survived by his loving parents Annette Onespot and Wilfred Blackface, his sisters Lori, Carla (Warren), Skylar, his brother Curtis, his aunts Brenda (Arnold) Cindy {Vincent), his uncle Mike {Carla) and his closest nephew Tre {Montana) whom he referred to as his brother. He is also survived by numerous cousins, nephews, nieces and relatives from the Onespots, Blackfaces, Crow Eagles and Little Plumes. The family would like to apologize if we missed anyone. Lewis was predeceased by his maternal grandmother Lottie Devine {Onespot) great grandparents Frank and Mary Onespot, his paternal grandmother Delphine Little Plume, grandfather Alfred Crow Eagle, uncles Oliver, Louie, Darrell, aunts Natalie, Darlene and Veronica. Wake service will be held on Sunday, November 28 at 3:00 pm at the residence of Cynthia Pipestem on the Tsuu T'ina Nation. Traditional Funeral Service will be held on Monday, November 29, 2021 at 9:00 am at the residence of Cynthia Pipestem. Graveside service will be at the Tsuu T'ina Cemetery with a traditional feast to follow.The family would like to thank the Aboriginal Friendship Centre of Calgary for all their support and also the Tsuu T'ina Healing Lodge and Day Care Centre.
