Lawrence Crowfoot Obituary

Lawrence Joseph Crowfoot (Zieffle) -Beloved Partner, Father, Grandfather, Brother, Nephew, Cousin and Friend passed away on June 24th, 2020 at the age of 59, in his home on the Siksika Reservation. Lawrence Crowfoot was born in Calgary AB on January  14, 1961, to his beloved mother Betty Crowfoot. As a child, he always dreamed of being a warrior. At the age of 18 Larry joined the military to serve his country and would become a warrior serving with the 3 Princess Patricia Canadian Light Infantry. While employed with 3PPCLI he became a qualified sniper and an Armed Combat Instructor while serving in Reconnaissance Platoon. Around the middle of his 10 year career he transferred to the Airborne Regiment (2 Commando). He served his country while on deployment in Cyprus. At 6’4” and around 250lbs Larry was truly an impressive man. He was well known for his warrior spirit and his wicked sense of humour. Somehow he could make light of any situation, no matter how dire.  Shortly after his Retirement from the military Larry moved back home to Siksika Nation to be closer to his family. He continued to serve by becoming a member of the Siksika Tribal police service, and the Blood tribe police service. His passion in life was his physical training and martial arts. He was an incredibly gifted athlete, and would become an 8th degree black belt in 2017. Larry Crowfoot leaves behind his partner Roma Garson, his three sons Lawrence Crowfoot Jr, Joseph Foote, and Dragon Ayoungman, and grandson Billy Crowfoot. He, also leaves behind his aunt Christine Big Snake (Crowfoot) and his uncle Gordon Big Snake and numerous relatives.

The burial will be held on the 4th of July 2020 1:00 pm, at the Crowfoot Cemetery on the Siksika Reservation.
