Laurielee G. Svoboda

Laurielee Gracie Svoboda (Wormley) of Brooks AB, passed away peacefully at the Brooks Health Centre on February 10, 2023 surrounded by family and friends. She was born in Lethbridge AB, to Edward & Catherine Wormley. She is survived by her caring husband Marvin (having just celebrated their 30th anniversary), children Katelynn, Ashley (Brett) and Nathan, grandchildren (Things #1-7) Jacob, Malachi, Theodore, Elliott, Emeth, Odette and Eden, her niece Angeline (Graham) and their children Brennan, Abby and Evan whom she loved as her own grandchildren, as well as many siblings, nieces and nephews. Laurielee spent as much time with her grandbabies as she could, showering them with love, playing, baking with them and involving them in some of her volunteer work over the years. Laurielee spent much of her time on Earth doing her best to be Jesus’ hands and feet using her considerable talents and tenacity to bless those around her. She will be dearly missed and remembered by many. 

 Please join us in a celebration of a life well-lived and gone too soon at the Holy Family Academy gymnasium on Saturday February 25 at 2pm. Everyone is invited to join us for a small luncheon and social at the gym.

 There will be no burial however a tree will be planted at the Brooks Commemorative Forest September 2023 in remembrance of Laurielee’s love of walking around Lake Stafford while visiting with her family and friends. 

 In lieu of flowers, please donate to your local food bank. Donations of non-perishable food items will also be collected at the memorial in support of Laurielee’s food service to HFA students during their school breaks.
