Larry Douglas Busse

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Larry Douglas Busse, who passed away peacefully with his family by his side on June 10, 2025, at the age 76 years. Larry was born on December 7, 1948 in Swift Current, Saskatchewan. Larry was predeceased by his parents , Alex and Emma Busse, his son Kelly Busse and his sister Dorothy Wilkinson. Larry was survived by his beloved wife, Caroline Busse, daughter, Sherry (Alan), and children Landon and Malayna and son, Monty (Joy) and children Bryce and Brett.
Larry lived and worked on the family farm near Hallonquist, Saskatchewan, for many years. He married the love of his life and best friend Caroline, on March 22, 1969. Larry served on the Swift Current City Police Force for two years before he and Caroline decided to move to Brooks, Alberta, in the fall of 1969.
In Brooks, Larry worked on the pipeline with Alberta Gas Trunkline/Nova for 13 years. He then pursued his passion for taxidermy, a craft he dedicated over 40 years to. He became renowned in his field, completing over 5,000 mounts for clients worldwide.
Larry will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, June 22 at 1pm at Thom’s Funeral Home in Duchess, Alberta. In memory of Larry, if friends desire, memorial tributes may be made to the Ronald McDonald House, 111 W Campus PI, Calgary AB T3B 2R6.
