KATHLEEN ALICE KOZA
June 6, 1940 – June 12, 2025
Loving wife, mother, and neighbor.
Kathleen was born and raised in Twin Butte and Pincher Creek. She attended school in Twin Butte with her twin sister Florence and siblings. After completing her education, she met and married Raymond Luscombe and lived on ranches in southern Alberta. Two happy occasions followed with the arrival of their son, Darcy, and daughter, Shelly. The family spent many years in Hill Spring and Pincher Creek.
In 1975, Kathy moved to Brooks, where she met and married Tony Koza. They settled on his family farm near Brooks. Kathy drove the school bus for the County of Newell for 30 years and enjoyed each day and field trips with her students. She also worked as a paint specialist with Macleod’s and Home Building Centre. For several years, Kathy served as a 4-H Leader and on the board of the Fish and Game Association.
Kathy and Tony enjoyed spending their time traveling, camping, fishing, and bowling. She loved to attend the Hill Spring barn dance and kick up her heels.
Kathleen is survived by her husband Tony, son Darcy Luscombe (Dayle Lepine), daughter Shelly Zukowski (John), grandson John Zukowski Jr, sisters-in-law Elsie Cooper and Mary Ott, brothers-in-law Ken and Brian, and many nieces and nephews.
Kathleen was predeceased by her parents, Herbert and Alberta Saunders, her twin sister Florence Cutting, sisters Edith Saunders and Ruby Perry, brother Arthur Saunders, and brother-in-law Alex Koza.
Kathleen will be deeply missed. There will be no funeral service at this time. A private family graveside service will be held at a later date.
