Kara Lee Melva Healy (Sacred pipe woman) - February 26, 1991-September 30, 2021

It is with broken hearts; we announce the sudden passing of Kara Lee Healy; born in Calgary, passed away in Calgary, AB. Although she lived a hard life, Kara was a survivor and beautiful artistic soul who loved her nieces and nephews like they were her own. She had an open heart and a caring protective nature with anyone who crossed her path and had a smile that could light up the room. In her younger years, she was a jingle dress dancer who enjoyed traveling to pow-wows and spending time with her family. Kara was adored by her 12 siblings and was their sunshine who brought so much love and laughter and always greeted you like she hadn’t seen you in a long time even if she has just seen you the day before. She will be missed dearly by everyone who knew her.

She is survived by her Father; William Jerry (Patti); Mother; Wilma Healy; Adoptive parents; Joe and Joyce Many Bears; Siblings; Jolaine, Lurlene (Weston), Tyson, Kayla (Shaun), Trinity, Skyler, Tristan (Shay), Karleen (Dre), Tia (Coal), CJ, James and Lisa Kelly and her special friend; Lenny M. Great-Auntie; Roberta Pelletier Aunties; Charlotte (Gary) Drunken Chief, Rhonda (Hector) Winnipeg, Cindy Hunt, Verna Healy, Uncles; James Jerry and Brian Healy.

She is predeceased by her grandparents; Roy and Rita (Jerry) Running Rabbit, Maureen Healy, and Jim Hunt; Amazing Foster Mother; Eleanor March; Sister; Rochelle Bareshinbone, Aunties; Shirley Jerry, Shelly Healy, Melva Old Shoes, and Ariel Old Shoes; Uncles; Tom Jerry and Arnold Healy; Cousins; Ace Many Guns, Justin Healy, Brandi Saddleback, Roanna Twoyoungman, JC Twoyoungman, Billie Drunken Chief.

Kara is survived by her extended families, Jerry, Sitting Eagle, Leather, Running Birds, White Calf, Swindler, Standing Rock, Alexander, Kennedy, Pelletier Healy, Hunt, Tallow, Bareshinbone, Old Shoes. The family apologizes for anyone that they have missed mentioning.

Wake services will be held at William Jerry’s residence (Map 10 House 34) in Siksika, AB on Wednesday, October 6, 2021, at 6:00 pm.

Funeral services will be held at William Jerry’s residence (Map 10 House 34) in Siksika, AB on Thursday, October 7, 2021, at 11:00 am.
