Joyce Vossler of Brooks, beloved wife of Dale, passed away at Brooks Health Centre on May 30, 2021 at the age of 63 years. Joyce was born in Red Deer to Arthur and Vera Hopp. Joyce and Dale were married on February 15, 1975 and in 1978 they bought a truck and trailer and their travels took them through Western Canada and Northwest USA. Joyce was a bookkeeper, navigator and swamper; she could tarp a load of lumber in no time flat! Joyce and Dale moved back to Brooks in 1980 about the time Chris started grade one. Joyce was employed with Byers transport for 15 years and eventually with High Point Western Sales where she was a natural at selling clothing and when High Point moved to Redcliff she made the trip from Brooks to work with them for about two years. Joyce enjoyed sitting around the coffee pot listening to the old cowboys tell their stories and travelling around to rodeos. She enjoyed reading Stephen King novels and afternoons with the Tim Hortons coffee bunch, but above all those things she most enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. Joyce had a big heart and was always looking after others. She was predeceased by her father Arthur and stepmother Bernice; stepfather Henry and father-in-law Emil. She is survived by her loving husband Dale, son Chris and daughter-in-law Abigail; grandchildren Caleb, Lilah, Faith and Wesley; mother Vera; mother-in-law Clara; siblings Larry (Joanne), Randy, Reta, (Brian), Keith (Sandra); step-siblings Bea, Harvey, Pam (Isesmall), Loretta, Gene (Kelly) and numerous nieces, nephews and other family members. Special thanks to Jhonamae and Grace for the care they gave Joyce and being there for mom and myself when Joyce passed. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
