Joseph Lambert Blackrider

Joseph ''Joe/Fingers'' Blackrider was called home peacefully by our Creator on Saturday June 13th, 2020 at the age of 44 at PLC Calgary, A.B. Joe was born in Bassano AB, on June 22, 1975. Joe lived life to the fullest. He was a loving father, son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin, and friend. He mostly grew up in Calgary, but also spent time on Tsuu Tina and Siksika Nation.
Joe graduated in 1994 at Strathmore High School. He enjoyed hunting with his dad, playing running around in the country hills, and swimming in the creeks, picking berries, riding horses, and riding bikes. Joe also like to sing and enjoyed playing golf. He was called ''Fingers” because he got into everything. He was good with his hands in construction, mechanics, as well as cooking, and loved his BBQs. He worked as a carney for 5 years, also was a big fan of the Stamps. Joe was spiritual in heart and is known to be Brothers In Arms with his brothers.
Joe is survived by his wife Francine McMaster, his loving children Nicolas, Brendon, Jaze, Joseph Jr Blackrider. His step kids Elaine, Adrianna, Clarisse, and Declan. His mother Marie Blackrider and siblings Martin Blackrider(Shilo), Tricia Crowchild, Lucianne Crazyboy, Mark Crowchild(Bhey), Irene Blackrider, Leon Johnson, Aaron Crowchild, Raleigh(Jolene) Weasel Head ,Daniel Weasel Head, Alexander Crowchild, Dakota Weasel Head, River(Jesse) Blackrider. He was predeceased by Ita Isaac Bradley, grandparents. Isaac and Edith Crowchild, Mable Blackrider, Philip and Jean Backfat. Siblings Bernadine Crowchild, Derek Blackrider, Chantel Weasel Head. The loving gift that he leaves us with are so many precious memories
of his kindness, and humour, he smiled with his eyes, smile that melted your heart. A smile that that we wont ever forget, and his big bear hugs. Joe had a gentle heart that will forever be in our hearts.Wake services will be held on Friday 6pm on June 19, 2020 at the Residence of Romeo Crow Chief, Sikska Nation. Funeral at 11am on Saturday, June 20, at the Residence.
