John Alexander (Alexander) Mackenzie

John Alexander Mackenzie (1944–2025) John Alexander Mackenzie, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, in Consort, Alberta, at the age of 81, just weeks after celebrating his 81st birthday. Born in Hanna, Alberta, on October 31, 1944, John grew up with a deep appreciation for the province’s landscape. He found his greatest joy in the outdoors, especially fishing—a passion he pursued throughout his life. True to his Halloween birthday, John carried a mischievous streak, often teasing and stirring up trouble wherever he went. John’s greatest pride was his family. He will be lovingly remembered by his children; Holly Mackenzie (Allen McCauley) of Wainwright, Alberta, and her children Rheagan, Jeff, Sabrina; Brent John R. Mackenzie of Kuwait, and his children Kobe, Emma, and Madison Alynn (Mark) Heitman of Coaldale, Alberta; Pam (Terry) Laubenstein of Rolling Hills, Alberta and his brother, Everett, whose bond with him was lifelong. He was predeceased by his beloved wife of 41 years, Lynn Mackenzie; his sister Ethel Anderson; his father John F. Mackenzie and mother Myrtle; and son Warren Mackenzie. John will be remembered for his toothless side grin, the mischievous twinkle in his eyes, and his unapologetically honest self. He spoke his mind freely - sometimes when asked, often when not - but those who loved him knew that behind his blunt words was a heart full of love and acceptance. His legacy is one of laughter, authenticity, and unwavering devotion to family and friends. The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the Consort Care team for their professionalism, genuine compassion, and the immense relief they provided during John’s final days. Their care brought comfort not only to John but also to his loved ones. Details- Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, December 4th at Rolling Hills Seniors Centre in Rolling Hills. Graveside services to follow at Rolling Hills Cemetery. Luncheon will follow at the Rolling Hills Seniors Center in Rolling Hills.
