Jason Smith Obituary

Smith, Jason Patrick Dwight
March 19, 1972 – July 6, 2024

It is with immense sorrow that we announce the passing of our dear Jason at the age of 52. Jason was loved by many people throughout his journey in life. He was known as the fun loving (crazy at times) brother who enjoyed life to its fullest. He had a heart of gold and loved all his kids/grandkids/nephews/nieces/cousins/friends. He was always proud of his family and friends’ accomplishments. Jay’s brother, Cassius, recalls: “I still remember the day he introduced me to Metallica when I was a teenager. I was not into heavy metal music but when I heard him playing the Metallica - Black album in his bedroom. I knocked on his door and I said" who is that? Sounds pretty cool. I have to get that CD" yeah he loved Metallica.” Jason was a carpenter and an outdoorsman and he worked with pride on his projects. Jason enjoyed the company of his friends and enjoyed laughing and sharing jokes and making people laugh. If you were loved by Jason, he made darn sure that you knew it. We will all miss Jay. Jason had a special bond with his Mama Bear Darlene, sharing travels and adventures and many tender mother/son moments. Jason treasured his mom and she will miss him until they are reunited. Mourning Jason as he journeys ahead are his beloved parents, Mama Bear Darlene & Cody Munro, his brothers Cassius (Cara) Smith, Calvin Smith & Waylon Black, Darcy Red Gun and his sister Dawn Ayoungman, his children Brody, Brooklyn, Beth, Brayden, Brock, Blaine, Shavonne, Shavez and River and his Baby Girl Billie; his grandmother Rachel Ermineskin, Aunts and Uncles, Karen, Marcia (Allan), Joey (Shannon), Adrian (Georgia), Fabian (Bonty), John Jr (Maria), Trent, and Todd Munro. Nieces & Nephews: Astokomii, Freedom, Larenze, Ali, Mady, Lewis, Romy, Willow, Ryder & Olivia, great niece and nephew Benny and Cavelle, and his precious grandchildren Azarius, Noah & Zia. Also to all the rest of his Yellow Old Woman/Red Gun and extended families. Welcoming Jason into heaven is his beloved wife Barbara Jeanette Weasel Child, whom he never stopped missing, his grandfather John Yellow Old Woman Sr, Uncle Kirby Yellow Old Woman, Aunts Liza Yellow Old Woman, Cassie Yellow Old Woman, Christopher Bullbear, Benjamin Bullbear, Mavis Crow Child & Cheryl Munro, cousin Kristian Ayoungman & nephew Braxton Smith, grandparents Jim & Joan Munro. Also mourning Jason is his Father Dwight & Debbie Smith, his brothers Dallas & Dillon, his aunts and uncles Ferris (Daisy), Marilyn (Delford), Cheryl (Adrian) & Lenny.
