Janine Rose Rain

It is with great sadness we announce the sudden passing of our beloved Mother, Grandma, Daughter, Sister, Niece, Auntie and Friend. Janine was born at Stoney Plain Hospital and is from the Paul Band Nation, she was raised with her grandparents until the age 8 years old she then moved to Siksika with her mom. She attended Crowfoot School and in her younger years she enjoyed playing baseball and hanging out with family and friends. She loved spending her time with her sisters and children.

Janine is survived by her children Dre Sitting Eagle, Sharena Sitting Eagle, Drandin Sitting Eagle (Devonte) Deja Sitting Eagle, John Sitting Eagle, Lazarus Sun Walk, Sophie Sun Walk and Aaron Sun Walk, Granddaughter; Leigha Sitting Eagle; Parents Leonard and Cora Sitting Eagle, Biological Father Austin House; siblings: Jean Rain (Kenny), Roland Rain, Clyde Rain, Ashley Rain, Chelsey Sitting Eagle (Joe), Evan Rain, Taneil Rain, Thomas Rain, Shontelle Rain and David Sinclair; and God children Taiza Sitting Eagle and Bryson Poor Eagle, nieces, nephews, cousins, numerous Aunties, Uncles and extended relatives the Houses, Bulls, Adams, Bear Heads, James and Birds. Janine was predeceased by her Grandparents; Lazarus and Sophie Rain; Miles and Julia House; Brother David Sitting Eagle Uncles Roland Rain, Clyde Rain, and Rufus Rain. The family would like to apologize to anyone that we may have missed.  

Wake services will be held at the Residence of Sharena Sitting Eagle on Tuesday, January 17, 2023 at 6:00 pm and Funeral Services will be held at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church on Wednesday, January 18, 2023 at 11:00 AM and graveside services to follow at the Little Washington Cemetery (Siksika Nation, AB). The family would like to thank everyone who has made donations and give their support during this difficult time and sending a thank you to Siksika EMS, First Responders and Gleichen RCMP.
