It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of James Many Bears, James was born in Bassano AB on September 16, 1964. He passed away suddenly on September 20, 2022, in Siksika nation, at the age of 58.
James leaves to mourn his wife of 18 years Crystal Many Bears (Nee McMaster) he also leaves behind his two boys, Gerard McMaster, and Alias Many Bears. His Daughters Kayla Drunken Chief, Thora McMaster, his precious granddaughters Frances & Victoria Many Bears, and his special grandson David James McMaster. His Traditional adopted children Lavender Rilling, Jaren McMaster, Jo-Lisa & Michael Peace Maker. He Leaves behind his sibling which are Georgette (Aldred) Medicine Shield, Charles Saxton, Alanna Many Bears, Krista (Tyler) White, And mother-in-law Melvina McMaster. Sister in law Melva (aka fighting partner) (Mylon) McMaster, Brother in laws Charles (Patricia) McMaster, Ian McMaster
James was preceded by his parents: Francis & Aloysius Many Bears, Francine Medicine Shield, Morris Many Bears, Cooper Many Bears, Father-in-law Charlies McMaster. Along with his two sons Preston & Dustin McMaster. Nephew Brandon Medicine Shield, His Nieces Chris Ann Wright, Alexis White.
James had worked with Siksika Housing for 25 years as a contractor/carpenter. Along with PTC construction working alongside his son Preston. James was known for his kind and humble nature; he was the family BBQs chef and ensured all was fed in his company. James often entertained through his well-known talent of playing guitar and singing. James will be known for his compassion and joking nature…… JAMES BROWN WOW!!!!!!!!!!!
