It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Herbert Tilman Dalager, who passed away peacefully on December 20, 2024, in Duchess, Alberta, at the age of 80. Herbert was born on April 17, 1944, in Pontiex, Saskatchewan.
Herbert was predeceased by his parents, Tilman Dalager and Elenore Patterson, his beloved wife Rose Marie Dalager, his son Mark Dalager, and his sister Donna Aaskow. He is lovingly remembered by his son Shane Dalager and Shane's wife Shari, as well as Bruce and Julie Boulton, and many cherished nieces, nephews and friends.
A certified Red Seal Welder and crane operator, Herbert’s career was marked by skill, dedication, and a strong work ethic. Outside of work, he found great joy in life’s simple pleasures. A proud member of the Royal Canadian Legion in Brooks, Alberta, Herbert cherished the camaraderie of his community. He was passionate about the outdoors, spending time boating, RVing, golfing, playing crib, and honing his skills at billiards.
Known for his kind heart and ready smile, Herbert’s legacy is one of friendship and generosity. He was always the first to lend a hand and had a knack for brightening anyone’s day. His warmth and humor made him a great man to all who knew him, and his memory will continue to bring smiles to those who loved him.
A celebration of Herbert’s life will take place in Okotoks, Alberta, in the summer of 2025 (date to be announced). His family and friends invite everyone to join in honoring his incredible life and sharing cherished memories.
