Gloria Rabbit Carrier

It is with profound sadness that the family of Gloria Harlayne Royanna Connie Rabbit Carrier (Pisksskaan) announces her sudden passing on October 24, 2023, in Calgary, Alberta. She was 21 years of age. Gloria was born on September 7, 2002. She was a generous, loving, humorous young lady who enjoyed making people laugh. In her younger years, Gloria was in the Bumble Bee Society. She also danced jingle at powwows and was a council member at Chief Old Sun School. Gloria was very artistic; she loved to draw and was skilled at carpentry work. Gloria cherished her younger siblings and never left her mom without saying, “I love you.” Gloria will be greatly missed by her mom (“mama”) Rena Rabbit Carrier, her stepdad Tim Spotted Eagle, and her siblings Kayden, Timothy Jr., Amira, and stepbrother Darwin, brothers Tommy and Tristen Cote. Gloria adored her Great-Grandparents Mike and Connie Rabbit Carrier, who helped raise her; along with her Auntie Kara. She will be missed by her Great-Grandma Connie Rabbit Carrier, Grandpa Keith Rabbit Carrier, Grandmas Roanna Sitting Eagle, and Gina (Lance) RH-Flamand. Gloria also leaves behind her Great-great Aunt/Grandma Liz Scout; Aunts: Kara (Adam), Lacey (Ross), Danielle, Hannah, and Faith; Uncles: Gerald (Ayla), Cory (Tiona), Lane, Ashley, Austin, Amari, and Spiffy; Great Aunts: Rhoda (Junior), Ann, Maureen, Joyce (Joe), and Colleen; Great Uncles: Fred (Pam), Elroy (Lenora), Harley, Fred Chief, Troy (Cindy), and Darryl (Loreen); God Mother Melissa; First Cousins: Layda, Ayana, AJ, Tiana, Honey, Devon, Michael, Clifford, Skylynn, Rose, Isaac, Treasure, Bryson, Anna, Donte, Lukas, Isabella, Carson, Elijah, and Hunter; also Special Friends: Nim L., Britten B., KCee PS., and Gracey BF; and numerous cousins and relatives she considered her Aunts. Gloria was predeceased by her Great Grandpas: Mike Rabbit Carrier and Roy (Great Grandma Ethel) Sitting Eagle; her Uncles: Arwin, Gerrance (God Father), and Jackson; Aunt Brooke and Great Uncles: Dwayne, Stan, Gerald, and Orton. Gloria’s extended families consist of the McMaster, Turning Robe, Running Rabbit, Many Guns, Strangling Wolf, Scout, Big Tobacco, Waterchief, Black Face, Maguire, Yellow Horse, Cat Face, Prairie Chicken, Hill, Red Gun, Bull Bear, Fox, Scalplock, Cut Mane, Buffalo, Many Heads, Stevens, Yellow Old Woman, Black Kettle (Maggie), Weasel Head (Lucy), Jerry (Jim), Red Calf, Mosquito, Standing Rock, Windy Boy. The family apologizes to anyone they may have missed.
