George Clarke Obituary

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of George Reginald Clarke, who departed this life on Sunday, January 19, 2025, in Brooks, Alberta. Born on Friday, June 7, 1940, in Baine Harbour, Newfoundland, George led a life rich in love, compassion, and dedication to family.

George is survived by his beloved wife, Eileen Clarke, whose partnership and love spanned decades of cherished memories. He was a devoted father to his daughter Mona (Clarke) Maruno, and son John Clarke. The gentle guidance of his presence will be dearly missed by his grandson, Christopher Maruno, who was especially fond of the joyful times spent with his grandfather.

Among George's close family and friends are his special cousin, Austin Hiscock, and sister, Clara Stowbridge, and her husband, Charlie Stowbridge. He is also fondly remembered by his sisters-in-law, Margaret King and her partner Wally Parson, Velma Hather and her partner Jeff, and Julie Kenway and her husband Randy Kenway. His brother-in-law, Robert G. Butler, and a large, loving circle of nieces and nephews mourn his passing.

He was predeceased by his parents, George T. Clarke and Flora (Master) Clarke, his sisters Amy, Stella, and Classie, his brother John, father in law William Butler, mother in law Amy Butler, brother-in-law Woodrow Butler, nephew Cory Kenway, and sister-in-law Lorraine Butler.

George was a man who valued meaningful work and proudly embraced life's opportunities. He loved spending time with family, camping, and fishing when the trout were biting.

No flowers as per family request, monetary donations may be made to the family.

George's warmth, humor, and unwavering devotion to his family will remain in our hearts forever, reminding us of the extraordinary man he was and the depth of the love he gave to all who knew him.
