Our beloved Aaron Axe of Siksika Nation passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Sunday, October 16th, 2022, at the age of 55 years old.
Aaron was a very comical guy, with a big heart, he loved to make everyone laugh. He spoke fluent Blackfoot and could make anyone feel welcome. He enjoyed being around his family and friends. In his younger years, Aaron was a talented hockey player, long-distance runner, and fastball player here on Siksika Nation. He always enjoyed making new friends and meeting new people.
In his later years, Aaron dedicated his time to his Special brother Keenan, Sister Shelley, and his mother Donna. Aaron could make awesome meals and was the Bannock/Fry bread maker for some of his nieces/nephews.
His sense of humour was well known by all who knew him. One of the jokes Aaron was known for was when you call for auntie Donna. He would say in Blackfoot “niit siss koo waa (I kicked her out), or “I sent her to the elder's lodge.” One of Aaron’s hobbies was nicknaming his relatives. He had a great love for his nephews and nieces and had nicknames for them. Aaron grew up in a Christian family and gave his life to our Heavenly Father. He was a young man with a very big heart. He was very welcoming to everyone that knew him.
He leaves behind to mourn his Mother Donna, his pride and joys, his children Justin, Natasha (Dez), Josh, and mother of his children Trisha Simeon of Sarcee. Leighton, Chantelle, and Candice Bear Hat of Siksika Nation.
