Obituary

Francis Many Bears – Koh tohk kii nii (No hair) 

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of precious brother, brother-in-law, uncle(dad), traditional grampa, nephew, cousin, and friend. He leaves to mourn his sisters and brothers Ann Marie (Leonard), Laura (Gerald), Ryan, Anne (Errol), Gerald (Myrna), Bunny, Delia (Harley), Joseph (Joyce). Uncles Albert Many Bears, Leonard (Nadine) Solway Aunties Eve Yellow Old Woman, Rachel Cardinal. God Children Gina Many Bears & Chase Many Bears, Traditional sons Drake Spring Chief, Jason Brass, Maverick Many Bears. He was a traditional grampa to all his great-nieces and nephews.

Francis was a quiet, humble man, designated nations mechanic/back yard mechanic. In his younger years, he played fastball with the Shouldice hawks with his buddy late Frank Brass. He attended Crowfoot and Milo school also earned many certificates. He was a supervisor for numerous pipeline companies while working there he had the honor of meeting Nickle Back. Last few years he was employed with Siksika Public Safety building working as the mechanic man. His coworkers loved Francis generosity as he would bring in food and coffee almost on a daily basis and treat them like family. He will be loved and missed by all who knew him.

He is reunited with parents Philip & Lily Many Bears, grandparents Lyndon & Dorothy Many Bears, Fred & Margaret Studhorse. His brothers Jaye, Andy Many Bears, sister Darlene Many Bears, sister in law Annette Many Bears. Nieces & nephews Vivian, Hilary, Edwin, Jane, Drew, and David. Traditional grandchildren Baby Warren, Baby Joel, Baby Cress, Baby Presiley, Baby Honey, Kingsley, McKayla, Cash. Aunties & Uncles Cecil (Matthew), Cecilla, Theresa (Art), George, Edna, Emma, Mary, Jim, Edmund, Beatrice, Margaret, Damion, Jasper SR. Cousins Carol, Rose, Jasper Jr, Fran and Julius (Patty).

His extended family Poor Eagle’s, Fox, Many Heads, Many Guns, Stabbed Last, Studhorse, Crowfoot, Yellow Old Woman, Munro, Wolf Collar, Three Suns, Right Hand, Cutter, Water Chief, Black Horse, Hairy Bulls, Crow Shoe, Running Rabbit. The Family would like to apologize if we missed anyone.

The family would like to thank Siksika EMS, Siksika Fire & Rescue, Gleichen RCMP, and Siksika Crisis Unit for all your help in the time of our loss.

Wake Services will be Friday, November 12, 2021, at Francis place in Many Bears Flats. Funeral Services will be at 12:00 noon on Saturday, November 13, 2021, at the Holy Trinity. The burial site will be at the Many Bears Cemetery.

 

Covid restrictions are in place during the wake and funeral.
