Felix Gerald Riel

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Felix Gerald Riel on March 7th, 2023 at Sagewood Care Home in Strathmore, Ab. Felix was born July 14th, 1947 at Batchewana First Nation in Ontario and was the son of the late Angeline Santikko. He leaves to mourn his daughter Beverly (Claude) Reed; granddaughter Kaleena; sisters Mardie Macdonald (Micky), Pattie Smith (Derek), Shirley Lawrence (late David); brother Ronnie Riel (Sherry); his Siksika family; Delia (Tilly) Riel and her children whom he loved and help raise; daughters Carla (Adam) Spotted Eagle, Sissy (Art) Scalplock and his baby girl who he raised from birth Hazel Faith Mcmaster; sons Gooney Cutter and Eldon McMaster; grandkids Anthony Cutter, Justin Cutter, Lindros (Karri) Cutter, Ashley (Lyndell) Spotted Eagle, Kierra Cutter Jerace, Marty Spotted Eagle, Jonah Bearspaw, Kaide Mcmaster, Ezra Scalplock, Elias Feather, Ella Elanter Mcmaster, Willow, Felix and Jorzell Mcmaster; great grandchildren Legend Righthand, Leelyn Zantaga Sun Calf, Leigha Baptise and so many nieces, nephews and other family members that he loved and cherished. Jerry will be dearly missed by his buddy Debbie Pederson, her children Ethan, Beth, Hunter, Abe, Issy, Ben and Sam who loved papa Jerry as there own grandpa. Jerry was predeceased by his younger brother Danny Riel. We would like to thank Peter Loughheed Strathmore Hospital and Sagewood Care Home for all the care and compassion Special thanks to Dr Young. There will be a viewing and prayers at Thom’s Funeral Home in Duchess, Ab on Thursday, March 9th at 3pm. Monday March 13th Jerry will make his Journey back home to Ontario.
