Ella Marie Stimson

It is with great sadness to announce the unexpected passing of Ii’immiyaaki (Laughing Woman) Ella Marie on August 28, 2024 in Siksika Nation.

Ella was the daughter of late Dwight Drunken Chief and Justine Stimson. Late Grandparents: Colin and Bella Stimson; Theodore and Barbara Drunken Chief. Late Great Grandparents: Connor and Doris Stimson and Albert (Banum) and Suzy One Runner. Ella was blessed as she was raised by foster parents: Bobby and Dora McMaster, Ray and Tashiro Spotted One.

Ella was survived by her three (3) children Drazel, Justine and Lucious whom she loved and will miss her dearly. Ella loved children whom she had the privilege of fostering. Her Uncles: Dan, Jordan, Horton, Aunties: Maria, Sophie, Verna Collinson, Florene Running Rabbit, Elizabeth and Leslie Stimson; Grandmother Eve Yellow Old Woman; she had five nieces and nephews are left to mourn her passing. She had many roles daughter, sister, aunt, mother, granddaughter, cousin, colleague, and a friend.

Ella attended Siksika Chief Old Sun Elementary and High School. Later she attended various schools in Calgary. She was a beautician by trade who ran her own business. She also received other certificates as she loved learning.

Ella will be reunited with her predeceased family with open arms by her parents, brother; Dwight and Nigel, grandparents, great grandparents; Aunts: Colleen, Diane, Great Aunts: Ruby (Fred) Doore, Audrey (Leslie) McMaster, Betty, Patsy, Peggy, Dorothy, Yvonne. Uncles: Andrew (Porky), Jason, Great Uncle: Edward, Adrian, Roy, Ralph, Bruce, Dickie.

Extended family: Ayoungman, Axe, Back Fat, Black Horse, Brass, Breaker, Bull Bear, Crane Bear, Crowfoot, Doores, Many Guns, Raw Eater, Red Gun, Running Rabbit, Poor Eagle, Pretty Youngman, Spotted Eagle, Stevens, Turning Robe, Weasel Child, Wolf Ear, Wright, Yellow Fly.
