Elizabeth Running Rabbit

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother, grandma, sister, aunt, cousin and friend, Elizabeth Running Rabbit (nee Many Heads) – Sookiitaapaakii. Liz was born on August 10, 1946 – Siksika Nation, Alberta, and passed away on April 29, 2025, - Strathmore, Alberta, with her family by her side. Liz is survived by her husband of 49 years Norman Running Rabbit Sr., downheartedly, Liz passed away six days shy of their 41st wedding anniversary on May 5th.
She is survived by her beloved sons Harley, Norman Jr., Glenn (Stacy), Kyle (Amber), Regan, and Quinn and daughters, Erica, Esther, Randa (Cody), Donna, Girly (Lambert) and Trina. She is also survived by her sister Muriel and brother Clifford (Janis) Many Heads, sister’s in-law, Carol, and Gail Many Heads, brother in law Robert (Judy) Running Rabbit and nephew Roy (Candice) as well as many other nieces and nephews, too numerous to mention.
Her grandchildren; Peter, Aleisha (RJ), Katrina, Thomas, Sierra, Delaney, Sophie, Dorian (Kelli), Richard (Montana), Adri (Natehya), Strawberry, Landon, Tannis (Del), Jed, Dallas, Jolisa, Jasmine, Drew, Madden, Jodi, George, Cole, Trayse, and Rand.
Great grandchildren; Jarred, Tah’mina, Azayliah, Edgar, Isiah, Zarianna, Natosi, Kittie, Shadow, Slater, Karl, Joseph, Lyndsay, Shaydon, Clayton, Emma, Thomas, Lillian, Taze, Talise, Tyler, Kori, Olivia, Alex, Liam, Jasper, Caedus, Lola, Justice, and Eva.
Great-Great Grandchildren: Kyrie and Kylo.
She was predeceased by her parents William & Nancy (Nee Wolfleg) Many Heads; her brothers Douglas, Jasper, Alfred, Levi Sr., Roy, Matthew and Richard; her sisters Hazel-Jane, Ina-Rose and Mabel; her nephew Eric, special nieces Nancy Three Suns & Delores Many Heads, her grandchildren, Zarius, Karl Jr., Korrie, Miranda and Adell and her brother-in-law Dan Kirby.
We would like to acknowledge extended relatives from the Cuthand, Wadsworth, Tailfeathers, McMaster, Breaker, Wolfleg, Three Suns, Ayoungman, Big Tobacco, Wolf Child, Two Horns, Many Guns, Solway, and Red Gun families. We apologize if we have missed anyone.
The family would like to thank Dr. J. Fanning and the Nursing staff at the Strathmore and Foothills Hospitals and a special mention to Siksika Home Care staff and Siksika EMS for all your tremendous support and care over the years. Our sincerest thanks and appreciation to everyone who has sent prayers and support to us during this difficult time.
