Don (Donald) George Oliver passed away peacefully July 11, 2022with his wife and children at his side.
Born to Pat (Ethel) and Bob (Robert) Oliver In Brooks, AB November 11, 1952 the fifth of eleven children.
He resided in Brooks working various jobs including farming and mining before settling into his career as a heavy duty and automotive mechanic.
He married the love of his life Margaret (Sweet Cheeks/ Cutie) Oliver, née Pedersen May 12,1973. Blessed with three children Amber Jennings, née Oliver, Jeremy Oliver, and Leigh Oliver. His blessings multiplied through expansion of immediate family with grandchildren Reahanne, Mackenzie and Parker born to Amber and Rodney Jennings. Ashlynn, Gavin born to Leigh Oliver and Amy Stafford, Damian, and Emmet born to Leigh and Maeggan Oliver, née Allred. Great-grandchildren Eli and Jaine Oliver born to Reahanne Oliver multiplied his blessings further.
His most treasured times were spent with family, amongst his favourite were the countless hours spent boating with his wife, children, grand, and great-grandchildren. Those times would end with the last sunset cruise with Margaret, the perfect end to a perfect day.
Don’s surviving siblings include Joan, Les, Harry Ethel, Gerald, Cheryl, Maureen, Valerie, and Jacqueline.
He left an indelible mark on the lives of those closest to him and will be forever in their hearts.
Death leaves a heartache no one can heal,
Love leaves a memory no one can steal…….from an Irish headstone.
An intimate family only celebration of Don’s life in lieu of a formal ceremony will take place as per Don’s wishes.
Donations to Haying in the Thirties can be made in Don’s honour to support cancer patients through treatment.
