Donald Roderick McPherson

It is with great sadness that the family of Donald Roderick McPherson advise of his passing on Saturday, March 12 at Bassano Health Centre at the age of 85.
Don was born on February 28, 1937 in Drumheller the oldest of eight children. He was predeceased by his parents Blanche and Angus McPherson and brothers Kenneth and Thomas.

He was survived by his wife of 31 years Patricia, his daughters Laurel and Heather his stepchildren Jason and Joanne, Brothers Robert, Gordon and Dennis, sisters Shirley and Fay and will be sadly missed by his grandchildren and nephews and nieces.

Don was a hard-working man, he served his country in the Canadian Air Force for 20 years followed by 19 years with the Canadian Coast Guard until his retirement when he relocated to Bassano. He enjoyed small-town life and joined in many local events. He became a member of the Pioneer Damsiters Drop centre, volunteered as a driver for seniors and was also a member of the Masonic Lodge and a Shriner.

Don loved the great outdoors with fishing and hunting being his favourite past times and he spent enjoyed many hours casting a line with his family and friends on the West Coast.

He will be greatly missed by all.
