Donald Robert MacDonald

Donald (Don) Robert MacDonald (“Old Man”, “Skipper”) passed away on March 30, 2026 in Brooks, Alberta. Donald was born on November 11, 1943, in Francois, Newfoundland to his parents, Maxwell and Sarah MacDonald. Don loved his kids and grandkids more than anything. But, sitting in the sun on a warm day with his coffee and smoke watching the birds with his buddies (the dogs) was a very close second.
Don is survived by his daughter, Sheena (Craig) Jacobson; his son, Robert (Amanda) MacDonald; and his youngest daughter, Elizabeth MacDonald; his grandchildren, Carter, Rory and Nash Jacobson, Bella and Ian MacDonald; his children (step) from his marriage to Von MacDonald; his grandchildren, and great grandchildren; along with many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Don was predeceased by his parents, Maxwell and Sarah MacDonald; his sisters, Lydia, Ruby, Susie, and Bessie (Jane); his wife, Sharon Barrett, who passed away November 1988; and his wife, Von MacDonald who passed away May 2020.
