Donald Glen Berg
Donald Berg passed away in Brooks Health Centre on Tuesday, August 26, 2025 at the age of 66.
Donald was born in Brooks, AB on November 12, 1958 to Glen H. and Louise M. Berg. He is survived by wife, Norma; mother, Louise; daughters, Heather and Rae-Lynn; brother, Brian (Debbie); sisters, Sharon (Jay) Slemp and Brenda (Mark) Gray; and numerous other family members. He is predeceased by his dad, Glen and various aunts, uncles, cousins, and parents-in-law.
Donald was raised on a farm in Wardlow, Alberta. He attended the New Cessford School in Cessford, Alberta and later moved to Drumheller during high school for further education with shop class being his favorite.
Donald enjoyed picking bottles on the sides of the road. He spent time in many activities like hockey, karate, rodeo, and baseball. Later in life, he helped with security at the Brooks Bandits games. He loved the Calgary Flames, disliked the Edmonton Oilers, and was also a fan of the Calgary Stampeders. He loved to tinker, especially on vehicles. He was an excellent mechanic and loved his Dodge vehicle. He was a man of many talents.
Donald would talk to everyone and make friends easily and give the shirt off his back. He enjoyed making others laugh. He loved his horse and his cat and was involved in 4-H for many years. He was a working man who loved his naps, watching tv, driving, and travelling when he had the opportunity.
Donald will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
There will be a viewing for Donald on Wednesday, September 3rd, 2025 @ 7pm at Thom’s Funeral Home and Reception in Duchess, AB. An interment will take place the next morning on Thursday, September 4th, 2025 @ 10am at Cravath Corner close to Wardlow, AB. The service will follow @ 2pm at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Brooks, Alberta.
