Obituary

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our beloved Debra Anne, Pakitsaakii, on July 20, 2023, after a brief courageous battle with cancer. Debbie was born on January 17, 1963 at the old Blackfoot Hospital in Siksika, she received her education at Mossleigh and Crowfoot Schools. Debbie was a strong caring woman and put her family above all else, her children and grandchildren were her pride and joy, she supported them in everything they did and was their biggest cheerleader. She was happiest travelling to cheer on her boys in rodeo, watching Travis and Justin from sheep riding to riding bulls and as Team M3 in Indian relay racing. She enjoyed travelling with Joe and going to the INFR in Las Vegas was always her favourite trip, she made a lot of friends on the rodeo trail and became Mom to many of her children’s friends. Debbie was a kind and humble woman, beautiful inside and out, who was loved and will be missed by so many. Debbie is survived by her sons Travis (Amber) and Justin, adopted children Katherine McMaster, Monique Water Chief, Coy Doore, Bart Holloway, Skyler Bear Chief, Cody Big Tobacco, Quincy Running Rabbit, Dustin Fast, Mark Big Tobacco and Toby Dixon; grandchildren Kordell (Giselle), Ivy (Chance), Gracie, Ellison, Anistyn, Kipp and Kinsel, great-grandsons Stetson and Cordea and companion Clifton Backfat.
