The third daughter of Harry and Dorothy Raaymakers, Debbie was born and educated in Calgary, and in June, 1979, married Richard (Rick) Cashman, an RCMP officer. Over the years they lived in various places in Saskatchewan, the Northwest Territories, Nunavut, and Alberta, and she was very proud to be presented with special recognition, a Second Man Pin, from the RCMP for her essential support services in the North. They moved back to Bassano, Alberta, in 2005 and retired there in 2007 to become snowbirds. Debbie made friends everywhere and although she loved to make and share crafts of all kinds, her favorite was creating beautiful quilts.
Debbie is survived by her husband, Richard, sister, Connie Lane, and stepbrother, Cory Raaymakers, as well as numerous in-laws, nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her mother, father, and sister, Janie Scott.
A private family service will be held at a later date. If you desire, donations can be made to the Kidney Foundation or the Bassano Hospital.
