Cory Roland Lee Old Woman

Cory Roland Lee Old Woman of Siksika Nation, passed away suddenly on July 29, 2025 at the age of 36 years old. He is survived by his mothers: Roberta (Rufus) Old Woman and Maria Strause, his wife, Tiffany, children Zavienne and Vida-Rae; his siblings: Robin (Sheldon) Old Woman, Quannah Old Woman and Everett Old Woman. His ‘adopted brothers’ are Mitchell, Mark, Jules, Stevie, Chace, Dale, Christopher, Smokey, JD, Oscar, and Dickie. His uncles: Everett Dino Old Woman and Miles (Ethel) Old Woman. His great aunts: Elsie Winnipeg, Rose Red Gun, and Daisy Smith. His nephews and nieces Ethan Davidson, Raegan, Angelina, Zechariah, Malachi, Scarlett, Cage, Abigail, Chloe, Slader, Frances, Violet, Victoria, Kato, Lauren, David, Stryder, Milia, Bishop, and Johnny. Adopted nieces and nephews: Marilynn Anderson, Kiera Ballantyne, Kali Anderson, Aleah Heft, Maddison Heft, Zackery Sand, Lucas Heft, Daulton Harper, and Jordan Jackson. He was predeceased by his siblings: Jessica, Tyrel, Teisha and Thora. grandparents: Doris Old Woman and Gary Many Guns; aunts/uncles: Lawrence Old Woman and Ada Old Woman, and father-in-law: Leonard Swan.

When he was small, he stayed with Dexter/Rosaline Red Gun. Thereafter, lived with his gramma Doris in North Camp or Flats, which he held dear to his heart by saying, “Let's make the flats great again.” Eventually, he moved to northern Alberta, where he found his true passion for rap music.

At the age of 17, he started making music with his best friends that he eventually adopted as brothers: Mark Anderson, Jules Anderson, Stevie Erasmus, and Chace Heft. They as a group became the “Psych Ward Kidz”. Their talent and creativity led them to the record label, Deranged House. Their talent burst onto the underground rap scene when they went on tour with various artists such as Tech N9ne and Twiztid. He was also a battle rapper and did battles for KOTD. Throughout the height of his success, he never wavered from his family.

When he met his wife Tiffany, he fell head over heels and boasted about his love when he visited his southern Alberta family. Their love created two children, whom he genuinely loved his little family with all that he had. His love for family was not exclusive to his little family, he had big love for his extended family, whether they were chosen or by blood, and their children, as he was deemed the favorite uncle. Cory was always giving all his time and help to his loved ones who needed it. He always opened his home and heart to all family and didn’t mind if his nephews and nieces were dropped off at any time or any day.

Cory is survived by many of his numerous relatives from the immediate families of the Old Woman, Many Guns, and Blacks. Cory had a big family, and we apologize if we didn’t list all the names.

Cory’s wake will be held at Miles Old Woman’s home, SKR123, Map 3B, Siksika, AB, at 6 pm on Wednesday, August 6, 2025, and the funeral will be at 11 am on August 7, 2025.
