Cora Joyce Sitting Eagle

It is with great sadness we announce the sudden passing of our beloved Wife, Mother, Grandma, Great-grandma, Sister, Auntie, and Friend Cora on November 25, 2024, with family by her side.

Cora was raised by her parents and in 1989, she met the love of her life and married, she started her new beginnings in Siksika. In 2007 She did her cursillo and the theme song was “Amazing Grace”. Cora was known for her outgoing and friendly nature and always had a smile on her face that lifted the room. She loved her Family and friends and enjoyed traveling to powwows, and most of all she took great pride and loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Cora is survived by her husband Leonard Sitting Eagle, and Children; Jean Rain ( Kenny)
Chelsea Sitting Eagle, Clyde, and Roland Rain. Adopted daughter; Lisa and Nathan ThreeSuns, Sisters; Norma, Cherrille (Terry), Kimberly, Philimine (Paul), and adopted Sisters; Jackie Bear (Trent), Sister-in-laws Debbie (Elroy) Sharon (Keith) Barbra Saddle Back (Carl ) Brothers; Calvin Rain, numerous grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
extended relatives; Adam’s, Paul’s, Bear Heads, Birds & Burnsticks.
Predeceased by her daughter; Janine Rain, Son; David Sitting Eagle, maternal grandparents; Bob and Clara Rain, Paternal grandparents; Jacob and Phillimine Rain, and Parents Lazaruth and Sophie Rain, Brothers; Rufus, Roland, Clyde Rain, and is reunited with her Best friend Smallie and numerous aunties, uncles and relatives.

Wake services will be held at the Residence of Leonard Sitting Eagle on December 1, 2024 Funeral Services will be held at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church on Sunday, December 2, 2024, at 1:00 pm and graveside services to follow at the Little Washington Cemetery (Siksika Nation, AB). The family would like to thank Foothills Hospital staff and Siksika EMS, they also would like to thank everyone who has made donations and given their support during this difficult time.
