Chate Narace

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Chate Narace, age 75, of Brooks, Alberta, formerly of Mon Repos, Guyana, who passed away peacefully on May 05th , 2026, at Brooks Hospital, surrounded by family.

Chate was born on February 13, 1951, in Berbice, Guyana, to the late Late Dhankoomar Singh and Roopmatie Singh. He spent his early years on the West Coast of Berbice and carried the values of hard work, love, and family throughout his life.

He was a devoted son, brother, husband, son-in-law, father, adoptive dad, grandfather, brother-in-law, cousin, nephew, uncle and friend. Chate, shared 50 years of marriage with his beloved wife, Yvonne. He later made his home in Brooks, Alberta, where he built a life centered around family and friends.

Chate enjoyed watching cricket and wrestling and treasured spending time with his family and loved ones. He will be remembered for his warmth, generosity, humor, and unwavering love for those around him.

He leaves behind his loving wife, Evonne; his children Judy and Rudy, Daughter in law Ariana and the grandchildren, Joshua, Nathalie, Nathaniel, Austin, Jeffery and Jexenia. His siblings, Yea, Kapil, Taij, Durgesh, Beeram, Babe, Baby and their spouses. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins, Aunt , Uncle , extended relatives, and dear friends.

Chate was predeceased by his parents, Dhankoomar Singh and Roopmatie Singh, his brother Nate, his sister, Monica, son-in-law Kris and his Nephew Avinash
Funeral services will be held at Thom’s Funeral Home on May 9, 2026. The viewing will be from 10:00 am until 11:45 am and the funeral service is at 12 noon.

The family wishes to thank everyone for their love, prayers, and support during this difficult time. Chate will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
