It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Chadwick Poor Eagle on August 21, 2021. Chad was born on December 4, 1974 at the Bassano hospital and raised on the Siksika Nation. Chadwick is survived by his adoptive parents Ernest Waterchief and Verna Collinson, brothers Anthony (Nicole) Slippery, sister Yolanda Poor Eagle, Taggart, Presley and Landon Waterchief. His aunties Debbie Dixon, Wanda Poor Eagle (Oliver), Karen Rider (Lorne), Raymonda, Lorelee, Carla, Gina, Leandra (Boyce), Beryl, Tracy Waterchief. Uncles Everett (Esther) Poor Eagle, Wesley and Shane Waterchief; great aunts Theresa Delorme, Sally Johnstone, Betty (William) Mills, Joan (Lawrence) Pantherbone, Elizabeth Bearshirt; great uncles Douglas Poor Eagle, Bernard and Roger BearShirt, Larry and Mario (Karen) Waterchief; niece Keisha Slippery and nephew Trew Waterchief. Chad was predeceased by his common law wife Alona Bear Hat; his biological parents Josephine Poor Eagle and Robert Pelletier, sister Faith Slippery and brother Bradford Poor Eagle; grandparents Nap and Marie Pelletier; Ross Poor Eagle/Nellie BearShirt. Chad enjoyed fishing and was a gifted artist and passionate about his Native artwork which he often gifted to family and friends. He was a bareback and saddle bronc rider and a true cowboy who loved breaking horses. Chad spent some years at Lee Phillips ranch and did his cursillo at Entheos. His extended family include the Oakes, Stanley, Windyboy, Hess, Montour and the Black's. We apologize if we have missed anyone, there’s just so many to mention. Wake service will be held at 6:00 p.m on Monday, August 30th at the Gordon Yellowfly Memorial Arbour. Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m on Tuesday, August 31th , officiant Bishop Sydney Black. Drive by Feast to follow burial at the arbour.
