It is with great sadness and sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend Beverly Jane Leather Nii Water Chief. On good Friday the Lord called her home at the age of 71. Where she was reunited with her parents Georgina Many Bears, James Water Chief her children who have gone before her Lydia, Shelley, and Jason, and her grandbaby Jeanette. And her brothers and sisters who have gone before her, whom she was very lonely for in the past couple of years. Beverly was born and raised in Siksika Nation and attended Chief Old Sun Residential School. Beverly was a strong catholic woman who loved Jesus. She was known for her constant involvement every year for the Siksika Women’s Cursillo.  She made her Cursillo in May of 1988, and her theme song was Hail Mary gentlewoman. Where she was known to be on the cooking team. She made many many sisters in Christ, where she always kept a loving relationship with everyone throughout the years. She was known for her love for Jesus. She not only raised her own six children, but also her grandchildren & great-grandchildren whom she loved truly adored, and lived her life for.  Kyle, Lindsey, Leesha, Hailey, Lynette, Dallas, Cameron, Shanielle, Kamie, Danielle, Roselle, Mariah, Kiara, Wayne 3rd, Colton, Lyndon, Hayden, Tayus. She also leaves her three children Myra (Ben) Wayne Jr (Thomsina), Tyler (Adele). Whom she loved so dearly. She was also actively involved in watching her grandkids, nephews, and nieces play some minor hockey. Beverly was known for her big beautiful smile, loving gestures, and the love she had for her family, the family she and Wayne built over the years. She always encouraged the ones she loved to get to know Jesus and the power of prayer. Beverly and Wayne camped every year at the Siksika Nation Pow wow, and Tsuu Tina Nation Pow wow.
